About Tyler Key

Tyler Key is a Partner at Key Trial Lawyers, where he represents individuals and families in complex personal injury and civil litigation matters across Central Texas. Known for his strategic approach and trial readiness, Tyler has built a reputation as a trusted courtroom advocate—never afraid to take a case in front of a jury when that’s what it takes to get justice.

Trial-Driven Injury Representation

Tyler focuses on high-stakes cases involving serious injuries, wrongful death, and corporate negligence. Whether the claim involves trucking accidents, unsafe property conditions, or defective products, he approaches each case with the same mindset: prepare thoroughly, negotiate from a position of strength, and always be ready for trial.

He brings the full weight of experience to the courtroom, having developed litigation strategies in mass tort and toxic exposure cases early in his career—including asbestos, toxic waste, and multi-plaintiff product liability suits across the South. That background informs how he handles every personal injury claim today—working the details, knowing the opposition, and crafting a story that juries can stand behind.

A Relentless Advocate

Tyler doesn’t take every case. He takes cases he’s willing to try. That philosophy guides how he evaluates potential clients and how he manages cases from day one. If the other side wants to settle, they’ll find a well-prepared opponent across the table. If they don’t, Tyler is ready to go to trial and fight for the result his client deserves.

Background & Credentials

Born and raised in Hays County, Tyler earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, then graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in December 2013. After law school, he managed complex litigation for a major insurer before sharpening his trial skills under a nationally recognized plaintiff’s attorney. In 2014, he returned to Central Texas to build a practice dedicated to helping people—not corporations—win in court.

Outside the Courtroom

When he’s not preparing for trial, Tyler’s likely spending time with his kids, fly fishing a quiet stream, or coaching youth soccer. He brings the same focus and discipline to those roles as he does to representing his clients in court.
